This Is My Real Skincare Routine for Oily Skin (Whole Day Edition)
Having oily skin has taught me one important lesson—there is no single product that magically fixes everything. Over the years, I’ve tried following strict routines, expensive products, and even completely natural methods, but nothing worked perfectly on its own. That’s when I realized my skin responds best to a balanced approach, using the right skincare products along with simple natural remedies.
My daily routine is a mix of trusted skincare essentials and easy, home-based remedies that help control excess oil, calm my skin, and keep breakouts away. I don’t believe in overloading my skin with too many steps or harsh ingredients. Instead, I focus on consistency, gentle care, and listening to what my skin actually needs at different times of the day.
In this blog, I’m sharing my personal and honest full-day skincare routine for oily skin, from morning to night. Everything mentioned here is something I genuinely use—some are store-bought products, and some are natural remedies that have worked well for me over time. This is not a sponsored routine or a “perfect skin” claim, just a realistic approach that fits into everyday life.
If you have oily or combination-oily skin and prefer a routine that blends modern skincare with natural care, I hope this guide helps you build a routine that feels simple, affordable, and effective.

๐ My Morning Routine – Starting the Day from Within
Every morning, as soon as I wake up, I focus on caring for my skin from the inside first. Before brushing my teeth or touching any skincare products, I follow a simple natural ritual that I’ve been consistent with for a long time.
The first thing I drink is half a cup of warm water mixed with 1 tablespoon of ghee and a pinch of haldi (turmeric). It might sound unusual to some, but this small habit has made a noticeable difference for me over time. I personally feel this drink helps my body reset after sleep and prepares my skin for the day ahead.
Benefits I’ve personally noticed from this drink:
Helps support better digestion, which I’ve learned plays a big role in skin health
Gives my skin a more balanced and healthy glow over time
Turmeric helps calm internal inflammation, which reflects on my skin
Ghee helps keep my skin feeling nourished from within
Supports overall gut health, which indirectly helps control breakouts
After this, I drink overnight-soaked fenugreek (methi) seeds water. I soak a small amount of fenugreek seeds in water the night before and drink the water in the morning. I’ve been following this habit mainly for skin balance, but I’ve also seen benefits for my hair.
Why I continue drinking fenugreek water:
Helps regulate excess oil production, which is great for my oily skin
Supports clearer skin and helps reduce occasional breakouts
Known to promote healthier hair growth and reduce hair fall
Helps flush out toxins from the body
Keeps my skin feeling fresh and less dull over time
This entire morning ritual is completely natural and gentle, and for me, it sets the tone for how my skin behaves throughout the day. I truly believe that when I take care of my body internally, my skincare products work even better afterward.
During my morning shower, I keep my skincare simple and consistent, because oily skin reacts best when I don’t overdo things.
Face Wash (During Shower)
While showering, I cleanse my face using Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wash. I’ve been using this face wash for months now, and it genuinely suits my oily skin really well. It cleans deeply without making my skin feel dry or stretchy, which is something I always look for in a cleanser.
After stepping out of the shower, instead of using a regular toner, I gently rub an ice cube all over my face. This is one of my favorite natural skincare steps.
I love how ice:
Instantly refreshes my skin
Helps tighten pores
Reduces morning puffiness
Controls excess oil naturally
It works perfectly as a natural toner for my oily skin and feels extremely refreshing.
I believe good skincare doesn’t have to be expensive. All the products I use are cost-worthy and effective. I start with Minimalist Vitamin C Serum. I like how lightweight it is and how easily it absorbs into my skin without feeling sticky.
Next, I apply a good moisturizer. I use the Plum Moisturizer, which hydrates my skin well without making it greasy. It works nicely for my oily skin, especially during the day.
The last and most important step is sunscreen. I use Dot & Key Vitamin C Sunscreen, and I never skip this step, even if I’m staying indoors. It gives protection while keeping my skin bright.
For my lips, I keep things very simple. I either use Maybelline Teddy Tint or a Maybelline Lip Balm. I’ve been using Maybelline lip products for years, and they’ve always worked best for me—hydrating, comfortable, and long-lasting.
This routine feels easy, affordable, and realistic, and it’s something I can stick to every single day without stressing my skin.
☀️ My Mid-Day Skincare Routine – Simple & Consistent
By mid-day, I don’t do anything complicated, but I make sure I don’t skip the basics, especially sun protection and hydration from within.
After around 4–5 hours, I make it a point to reapply my sunscreen, especially if I’ve stepped out or been exposed to sunlight. This step is non-negotiable for me. Reapplying sunscreen helps protect my skin from tanning, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, and it also keeps my skincare efforts from going to waste. Even on busy days, I try to stay consistent with this habit.
๐ฅค ABC Juice – My Mid-Day Skin Boost
Along with sunscreen, I also focus on nourishing my skin from the inside. I usually drink ABC juice, which is made using apple, beetroot, carrot, amla or lemon, and a little ginger. I like having this during the day because it feels light, refreshing, and very skin-friendly.
Benefits I’ve personally noticed from ABC juice:
Helps improve overall skin glow and clarity
Supports detoxification, which reflects on my skin
Rich in antioxidants that help fight dullness
Amla or lemon adds vitamin C, supporting healthy skin
Ginger helps with digestion, which indirectly helps reduce breakouts
This mid-day routine keeps my skin feeling protected, fresh, and energized without adding too many steps. I love how these small habits help my skin stay balanced throughout the day.
๐ My Night Skincare Routine – Healing & Repair Time
Nighttime is when I focus on repairing my skin and letting it breathe. I never skip my night routine because this is when my skin actually recovers from the entire day.
Double Cleansing (Non-Negotiable for Me)
I always double cleanse at night, especially if I’ve worn sunscreen or BB cream.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
I start with the Conscious Chemist Oil Cleanser. I gently massage it onto dry skin to break down sunscreen, dirt, and impurities accumulated throughout the day. This cleanser removes everything without irritating my skin or clogging pores.
Step 2: Water-Based Cleanser
After that, I wash my face with my trusted Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wash. This ensures my skin is completely clean and fresh.
For my lips, I simply apply Vaseline before sleeping. It’s something I’ve trusted for years.
This night routine feels calming, natural, and effective for my oily skin. When I wake up, my skin feels soft, balanced, and refreshed — not oily or irritated.
Over time, I’ve realized that no matter how good your skincare products are, real beauty and glow always start from within. What I eat, what I drink, and how I take care of my body directly shows on my skin. When my digestion is good and my body is nourished, my skin automatically looks healthier, clearer, and more balanced.
Drinking things like warm water in the morning and ABC juice during the day may seem simple, but these habits help my skin in ways that no cream alone can. Skincare products support the outer layer of the skin, but internal care is what gives that natural glow that doesn’t fade by evening. For me, once I started focusing on inner health along with external skincare, my skin began responding much better.
This balance between inner nourishment and outer care is what truly works for my oily skin and helps me maintain a natural, long-lasting glow.
Drinking Enough Water – A Non-Negotiable Habit for Me
One habit I never compromise on is drinking at least 2–3 litres of water every single day. I’ve personally noticed that when I stay well-hydrated, my skin looks clearer, less oily, and more balanced. Water helps flush out toxins, keeps my skin cells hydrated, and prevents that dull, tired look.
Whenever I don’t drink enough water, it shows on my skin almost immediately—more breakouts, more oil, and less glow. Staying hydrated supports digestion, helps control excess oil production, and plays a huge role in maintaining healthy skin from within. For me, this is one of the simplest yet most effective habits for natural, long-lasting glow.
This routine is something I’ve built over time by understanding my oily skin and keeping things simple. By combining natural remedies with minimal skincare products, focusing on hydration, and staying consistent, I’ve found what truly works for me. Skincare is personal, and this routine has helped me maintain balanced, healthy, and glowing skin without overcomplicating things. Always remember:
"Glowing skin is built with small habits done consistently every day."
If you found this routine helpful, save it for later, share it with someone who has oily skin, and let me know in the comments what works best for you.
